Peter Debye

Debye was pioneering in the studies of molecular dipole moments; he formulated theories of magnetic cooling and electrolytic dissociation. He used X-ray diffraction techniques rather than crystallized, he realized that the wavelength of x-rays increases when they'd collide with electrons

Also while at ETH, Debye discovered that the wavelength of X-rays increases when they collide with electrons.
